New beginnings.

I just started classes again today. I am attending the Academy of Art University based out of San Fransisco. Of course, I am taking them online. I also started a new job at a full service design agency and I am sooo happy. I really enjoy the work that I am doing and everyone is really nice and makes me feel right at home. I am very lucky to have found a position at a company before I even graduate. I am VERY lucky!

Johnson City

I just got back from a four day trip to visit family in Johnson City, TN. My great uncle owns Hard Copy Solutions and I wanted to see what running a print shop was like. Luckily this was also the weekend that the Blue Plum Festival was going on. I spent most of my time working, but was able to see downtown Johnson City at it's finest. I was also able to work on a slideshow video for an elementary school and also did some photoshop work to create a print of an old truck in the Appalachians.

Travel Bug.

I have been itching to travel back to Europe since my feet hit American soil on my way home from my trip to London and Paris. I think at that moment I panicked and realized I did not want to come home. Rather I wanted to bring home with me back to that wonderful place of big international city life. My main goal in life is to make a living that allows me to travel. I have found that web design (my passion!) is so perfect for this. Now, I wish I could just persuade my husband to travel! This. is. going. to. be. fun.

Talk About Some Time Management

I just came across this excellent website written by this guy named Steve Pavlina. His website, Steve Pavlina's Personal Development for Smart People, has some very good advice on time management and personal accomplishment. He is the guy that graduated with not one, but two degrees over the span of three semesters. Very inspirational for a professional student like me! Read the article he wrote about it, "Do It Now", to become inspired.

As a web designer I am always looking for ways to better myself and my business. I came across this new website that has an awesome host who gives tons of great advice for photographers. Now, I know that I am not one, but a lot of what Becker has to say can carry over to any business. The website is the [b] school and it definitely a website to check out whether you are a photographer or not.
